It was a weekend of bliss at the Headquarters of the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, Marina, Lagos, as its Managing Director, Dr Abubakar Dantsoho announced the elevation of some management personnel to the prestigious positions of General Managers amongst them is Mr Ikechukwu Onyemekara, who heads the Corporate and Strategic Communications, C&SC of the Authority.

The Managing Director, Dr Abubakar Dantsoho, through his official X handle communicated that he has rejigged the Authority with the appointment of 27 General managers, including some serving ones.

Dantsoho in the Twitter statement, titled, “rejig as NPA Appoints New General Manager,” explained that the new appointment was aimed at repositioning the organisation for greater efficiency.

Among others who were appointed as new General managers or redeployed were “Dr (Mrs) Chinwe Nwokolo, Pharmacist Hadiza Sani and Mr. Babatunde Gbotolorun as General Managers Medical, Abuja Liaison and ICT Divisions respectively.

“The new appointees named to head various Divisions include Captain Jerome Angyunwe, Engr. Richard Unde, Engr. Mukhtar Isa, Mr. Anthony Edosomswan, Mr. Dapo Adekunle, Mr. Victor Gofwan, Mr. Rabiu Dambatta, Mrs Priscilla Maduka, Mrs Sarah Ballah, Mrs Zainab Dantiye, Engr. Anas Suleiman, Mr. Adeayo Oni, Mr. Abdulkadir Gusau Mr. RAB Salau, Barr. Nurrudeen Abdulkadir, Mr. Seyi Iyawe, Barr. Ethel Uduehi, Barr. Nansel Zhimwan, Barr. Ahmad Wanka, Mr. Fatai Oladapo, Mr. Ibrahim Lukman, Engr. Abdul Isah, Mr. Charles Okaga and Mr. Ikechukwu Onyemekara who assumes the role of the Authority’s spokesperson as General Manager Corporate & Strategic Communications Division”.

Dantsoho in the Twitter handle, titled, “rejig as NPA Appoints New General Manager,” explained that the new appointment was aimed at repositioning the organisation for greater efficiency.

Stating that the appointments take immediate effect, he added that it was to reorganize some Divisions to align with the direction of the Federal Ministry of Marine & Blue Economy.

Part of the statement reads:

“In a move geared towards repositioning Nigeria’s foremost trade facilitation platform for greater efficiency and renewed contribution to the national economy, the Nigerian Ports Authority has announced new appointments and redeployments of General Managers to support the Dr. @Abudantsoho-led Management in actualizing it’s performance deliverables.

“Speaking after the announcement, Dantsoho who comes to the job with decades of sector-specific experience having commenced his career at the NPA as a Youth Corp member said “these appointments represent our deliberate strategy to deploy the wealth of experience of the appointees to national advantage”.
