APC’S GUBERNATORIAL HOPEFUL, AKAGBURUONYE, DONATES N11BN MEDICAL EQUIPMENT TO IMO STATE …As ISTDAL Crowns Him Grand Patron

The All Progressives Congress’ (APC’s) gubernatorial hopeful in Imo State, Chief Barrister Success Obioma Akagburuonye, has donated $7.8 million worth of medical equipment estimated at N11billion to the Imo State government, with a caveat that 27 Local Government Areas must benefit from the gesture.

Akagburuonye announced this  robust good will before the assemblage of members of the Imo State Towns Development Association, Lagos,(ISTDAL), at the Shoregate Hotels, Ikeja, Lagos, where he was honoured with the Grand Patron Award by the association.

He candidly explained to the Imolites that the medical equipment were gifted to him as a person by the Canadian government as part of its human assistance in ameliorating the state of health in the State.

Akagburuonye further explained that; “immediately the Canadian government approved the donation of the medical equipment, I came and reported to the Governor of Imo State, and partners. They asked me how do I intend to distribute them, I said since they’re worth 7.8 million dollars, that’s about 11 billion Naira, they have to go round the 27 LGAs. Wherever, they have medical facilities,  we want to upgrade it with the stat-of-the-arts equipment.

“The container arrived right from Canada and they recommended this my brother to be the clearing agent, and he’s done very well. So it’s ready to be taken to Imo State.”

He emphasized the cliche of health is wealth, noting that “this is not the only container coming in. We have inside this one, three ECG machines. The container would be heading to Imo. I have told the Governor that it has to be distributed in my village. Yes, every doctor from the 27 Local Government Areas will come there and pick their own gifts.

“I have been doing medical palliatives. I don’t know how much you know or have heard about me, but, I believe that by the special grace of God, even if I am not a magician, I have been able to make some impact.”

Responding to the speech of the President of ISTDAL, High Chief Chris Ekeocha, Akagburuonye stressed that he is not a politician,  but a transformer.

“I’m not a politician. I’m a transformer, so when I say something hold me by it, and take it to bank. One of the things I’d used to appreciate this award and recognition is to request instantly that you nominate somebody who should be your representative in what we are going to do in Hope Rising for Imolites Foundation, henceforth.”
